As if the Heber Valley wasn’t charming enough, they have to go and be home to one of the cutest little bakeries in Utah. Located in Heber City, right off Main Street, is Dottie’s Kolache Co. our first vendor in the Cinnamon Roll Taste Off! One thing you will quickly realize about Dottie’s is that they do more than just cinnamon rolls (like we needed more) they are also home to an amazing array of kolaches! What is a kolache? Well, simply put a Kolache is a Czech pastry with a special, delicious, slightly sweet dough, which can house either a sweet or savory middle. But we digress, as we are here for the sweet rolls!!!
Dottie’s offers orange or cinnamon and let me tell you, they BOTH knocked our socks off! Their rolls are first off, huge and wound very loose, which can sometimes mean less flavor of cinnamon, but it was not lacking at all! The bread was soft and sweet with plenty of cinnamon flavor throughout. And topped with a buttery sweet glaze. Aaaamazing!
Sierra (Dottie) opened the shop in 2013, originally designed as just a soda shop. However, Dottie quickly realized that helping people make memories and traditions is one of her favorite parts of making fresh, hand-made goods and that the menu needed to expand to help those traditions.
We couldn’t be more excited to bring these unique Dottie’s Kolache Co. cinnamon roles to you. But, if you find yourself in Heber, definitely plan a stop to Dotties Kolaches Co. to experience everything they have to offer!
